Process Development Engineer - Team Lead Dayton, OH | Full-Time | On-Site

$100,000 - $120,000 + 8% Annual Bonus

A global specialty chemicals company with nearly a century of innovation is growing its Ohio R&D operation. This is a hands-on team lead role sitting at the intersection of R&D and manufacturing, focused on turning new adhesive, sealant, and coating formulations into scalable, production-ready processes.

You will lead a team of 3 engineers and technicians while staying actively involved in day-to-day process development and troubleshooting.

What You Will Do

  • Scale manufacturing processes from lab to pilot to production
  • Troubleshoot mixing, dispensing, and handling of complex materials
  • Lead and mentor a small process development team
  • Collaborate across R&D, manufacturing, and quality
  • Drive efficiency, cost, and process robustness improvements

What You Bring

  • Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or related field
  • 3 to 8 years in process development, scale-up, or manufacturing support
  • Experience with complex materials (polymers, filled systems, pastes, or slurries)
  • Strong problem-solving skills and interest in developing others
