Essential Job Functions

1. Training Coordination

  • Consults with Managers and Coordinators to assess and develop training needs and requirements
  • Manages upper level training coordination, such as annual calendars, adding regularly scheduled trainings to Therap, group training reminders, and publishing and distributing attendance sheets
  • Collaborates with and coordinates the Lead Trainers of the regularly offered classes; acts as resource to Lead Trainers to ensure agency consistency and compliance, as necessary
  • Acts as primary administrator for Training Management System, creating and managing the technical aspect of courses
  • Designs, develops and implements training materials and forms for content outside of monthly classes
  • Participates as a training instructor for various trainings, as assigned by supervisor
  • Reports and advises on training compliance for all Hiawatha Homes employees
  • Assists Coordinator Program Mentors with 245D compliance and internal quality assurance efforts
  • Works with outside agencies to provide additional trainings to employees, when applicable
  • Participates in Staff Development Committee and other training committees offered within Hiawatha Homes
  • Tracks professional development balances and processes registrations for individual professional development requests
  • Monitors driver statuses and ensures eligibility & training compliance
  • Meet with new HH leadership team members to discuss professional development needs.
  • Coordinates HH leadership team member training with the new leadership team member and manager

2. Community Outreach

  • Serves as the training representative to Provider's Network Training Committee (PNI)
  • Participates in community networking groups

3. Compliance

  • Assures agency compliance with 245D requirements and other quality assurance standards.
  • Provides education, training and mentoring of coordinators and other agency personnel regarding 245D standards
  • Remains current on any 245D changes and notifies agency accordingly
  • Collaborates with management team to develop/update and implement 245D changes throughout agency materials (i.e. central files, policies, training materials, etc.)
  • Ensures annual 245D compliance trainings are current (CPR, BST, Back Safety, etc.)
  • Keeps agency up to date with most recent State and Federal employment posters

4. Retention

  • Serves as a Chair Member on the Culture Committee while working collaboratively with Human Resources and the Program Department to implement strategies that enhance the agencys overall culture, based on mission and core values

5. Complete other work duties as assigned

  • Other duties as assigned by Program Director, CEO or Human Resource Director


Minimum Job Requirements

  • Possess an Associates Degree and (3) years of related field experience or Bachelors Degree and one (1) year of work experience in the field
  • Has the ability to communicate with others in person, in writing, or on the telephone, including the capability to communicate with all levels of personnel and the general public
  • Exhibit strong organizational skills
  • Show substantial knowledge of disability services and MN State requirements
  • Demonstrate strong presentation and speaking skills
  • Possess a working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding recruitment, staffing, Affirmative Action, and Human Resource policies
  • Demonstrate the ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize work; which ensures timely completion and follow through
  • Exhibits proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
  • Successfully pass a State of Minnesota background check Possesses a valid drivers license and satisfactory motor vehicle record
  • Is able to provide proof of employment eligibility and proof of being free from tuberculosis upon hire
