Job description

Tharros is seeking a Tactical Network and Computer Systems Administrator to install, configure, and maintain weapons systems airborne and air-to-ground data communications networks, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers supporting NAWCAD Cyber Warfare Division programs at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

The position requires deep specialization in weapons systems networking environments with hands-on experience across tactical data links, airborne computing platforms, and associated test and evaluation infrastructure. The Tactical Network and Computer Systems Administrator acts as functional team lead, coordinating and overseeing the tasking of team members performing weapons systems network administration functions.

  • Install, configure, and maintain weapons systems airborne and air-to-ground data communications networks, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
  • Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
  • Analyze systems, sensors, network and server resource consumption and control user access
  • Install and upgrade systems software and maintain software configuration management
  • Assist in network emulation/virtualization, analysis, planning, and coordination between weapons systems networks, associated test and evaluation networks, and data communications hardware and software
  • Review system and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
  • Coordinate and oversee the tasking of other team members performing network administration functions
  • Track project progress and participate in planning of projects, resourcing, and events
