Job Summary:

A Technician is responsible for supporting the installation and execution of DAS and construction projects in the field. This role requires accountability, reliability, and attention to detail—showing up each day with the required tools, PPE, and a positive attitude. Technicians complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently while developing system comprehension and technical skills. Under the direction of a Site or Project Foreman, the Technician contributes to achieving project milestones and ensuring high-quality installations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Install cable pathway, rough-in cable runs, terminate ½” coax cable / install connectors (MFR: Commscope, JMA, RFS. Connection type: N and 4.3-10)
  • Cat cable termination (RJ45 crimp, AMP punch down), continuity testing
  • Install wall and rack mounted equipment. (MFR: Comba, Nextivity Cel-Fi)
  • Advanced cable dressing and building splitter trees.
  • Roof work: erect masts/sleds, mount donor antennas, run, dress, support cabling, complete grounding & weatherproofing
  • Conduct cable segment sweep testing and interpret results (Distance to Fault & Return Loss)
  • Conduct system and branch PIM testing and interpret results.
  • Interface professionally with external points of contact.
  • Track and report on project status.
  • Implement design changes or revisions from Engineering.
  • Arrive at work at agreed-upon site start times ready to work with appropriate personal tools & equipment.
  • Display professionalism in all interactions with team members and external points of contact.
  • Regularly clean up work areas and maintain organization of material staging areas while tracking all tools, equipment, and project materials in your possession.

Minimum Requirements

  • Tech 1: Minimum 6 months of low voltage experience
  • Proficient in Office 365, and other general computer and phone-app related tools
  • Fluency in English (both written & verbal)
  • ½” coax cable prep tools, category cable RJ45 crimper, HILTI powder-actuated tools experience (preferred)
  • Basic hand, power tools experience (Screwdriver, torque wrench, crimper, hammer drill, circular/jig saw)
  • Tech 2: all above requirements plus a minimum 1 year of technical & operational experience in technology integration, with experience in some of the following fields: In-building wireless systems, RF Technologies, Cellular and Public Safety Systems.
  • Demonstrated success building out project installs to design specifications
  • Coax Cable Segment Sweep testers experience – Kaelus iVA and Anritsu S332E
  • Tech 3: all above requirements plus a minimum 3 years of technical & operational experience in technology integration, with experience in some of the following fields: In-building wireless systems, RF Technologies, Cellular and Public Safety Systems.
  • Demonstrated success interpreting system designs to install equipment correctly
  • Experience with Fluke LinkIQ continuity tester and Coax Cable PIM testers (Anritsu PIM Master)

Pay Rate:

$20.00 - $24.00 / hour - Tech I

$24.00 - $28.00 / hour - Tech II

$28.00 - $32.00 / hour – Tech III
