Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer to support a growing client in Fort Meade, MD. The Sr. Network Engineer role requires you to sit onsite 5 days per week. The Sr. Network Engineer role is ideal for a seasoned infrastructure professional with expertise in enterprise networking, automation, architecture design, and client-facing consulting within mission-critical environments. Responsibilities of the Sr. Network Engineer include: • Design and architect enterprise-scale network infrastructure solutions supporting complex government environments and evolving mission requirements. • Act as a trusted technical advisor to client stakeholders by providing strategic recommendations, roadmaps, and best practices for network modernization efforts. • Develop and implement network automation solutions utilizing tools such as Python, Ansible, and other infrastructure-as-code technologies. • Lead troubleshooting and optimization initiatives across routing, switching, data center, and network services environments to ensure reliability and performance. • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, knowledge sharing, and successful project execution. Requirements of the Sr. Network Engineer include: • Active TS/SCI Clearance. • 8+ years of professional network engineering experience supporting enterprise-scale environments. • CCIE certification required; candidates with a CCNP Data Center certification and strong enterprise networking expertise will also be considered. • Hands-on experience with automation technologies including Python, Ansible, or similar network automation tools. • Proven background in network architecture, infrastructure design, client consulting, and technical leadership.
