Position: System Admin

Location: Marlborough, MA

Mode: 5 days onsite- In person Interview

Job Overview: The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and supporting physical and virtual server infrastructure. 
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the operations of the company’s servers, including hardware, software, and virtualization technologies.
  2. Work with Security Operations to secure & patch systems
  3. Conduct system analysis, configuration management, and develop improvements for system software performance, availability, and reliability.
  4. Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
  5. Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and software problems on servers.
  6. Practice server asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications.
  7. Ensure the integrity and stability of the server environment through monitoring, analyzing, and participating in the planning and execution of disaster recovery procedures.
  8. Manage and oversee the development, installation, and maintenance of server equipment and software.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required.
  2. 5+ years of server system administration experience.
  3. Experience with VMware or similar virtualization technologies.
  4. Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols.
  5. Experience with scripting and automation tools using powershell/automox
  6. A proven track record of developing and implementing IT strategies and plans.
  7. Strong knowledge of implementing and effectively developing helpdesk and IT operations best practices, including expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols.
  8. Demonstrated leadership and personnel/project management skills.


Preferred Skills:

  1. Certifications in relevant fields, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA), Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
  2. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  3. Ability to lead and motivate a team.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
