An essential part of the job is monitoring network security, spotting security flaws before they are manipulated, and staying current with the latest industry technologies. The job requires experience with large computer networks as well as data communication systems.

What does a network architect do?

A network architect designs, plans, and implements computer networks for organizations, ensuring they meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. They analyze business needs, select appropriate hardware and software, and create network diagrams, often using tools like Cisco or Juniper.
