Job Description:

  • Design build and rollout our global DWDM networks
  • Drive scaling designs to meet the demand of our customers
  • Create processes that help operate and build our optical network
  • Work closely with other Networking teams
  • Evaluate new products and drive commercial tender process
  • Ensure that the optical network adheres to the defined network standards
  • Review and implement changes on the optical systems
  • Drive operational excellence projects to drive improvements in our DWDM network quality and reliability
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and develop innovative solutions day to day on our network.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience to a Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 7 years industry experience
  • Experience with optical planning modelling tools and rollout of large DWDM networks
  • Expertise IP networking fundamentals and IP protocols
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major DWDM platforms Ciena Infinera and Cisco
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms Cisco and Juniper including compatible supervisory and line cards for these platforms
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols specifically BGP and OSPF
  • Excellent network analysis fundamentals and robust troubleshooting skills
  • Candidates should also have had significant past experience with and expertise in many of the following protocols technologies: DWDM T1/DS1 DS3 SONET OC3 OC48 802.2/3 802.1d VLANs/STP IPv4 IPv6 TCP internals flow control BGP OSPF HSRP/GLBP PIMv2 IGMP LDP TACACS IPSEC VPNs netflow DNS HTTP

This is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $65.00 - $75.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
