Job Title: Unix Admin
Nature of role: Contract
Work Location: Hartford, CT

Responsibilities:
  • Administer configure and maintain IBM Sterling File Gateway SFG and B2B Integrator SI in a Unix Linux environment.
  • Perform installation upgrades patching and performance tuning for IBM SFGSI and related infrastructure
  • Manage and troubleshoot secure file transfer protocols SFTP FTPS AS2 HTTPS and encryption mechanisms
  • Ensure system availability performance and security compliance for file transfer and Unix environments
  • Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation monitoring and operational tasks
  • Work closely with network security and application teams to integrate and optimize file transfer workflows
  • Monitor system logs diagnose issues and implement proactive troubleshooting and optimization strategies
  • Manage user access authentication and role-based controls within SFG and Unix platforms
  • Maintain documentation for configuration procedures and troubleshooting guidelines
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and implementation for IBM SFG environments

Required Skills Experience
  • 10 years of experience as a Unix Linux Administrator Red Hat AIX Solaris or equivalent
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway SFG and B2B Integrator SI
  • Proficiency in secure file transfer protocols SFTP FTPS AS2 HTTPS and encryption standards
  • Expertise in shell scripting Bash Korn Python or Perl for automation
  • Experience in troubleshooting log analysis and performance optimization in Unix environments
  • Knowledge of networking firewalls load balancers and security principles
  • Experience with system monitoring tools Nagios Splunk or equivalent
  • Familiarity with certificate management SSH key management and authentication mechanisms
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills with a proactive and analytical mindset
