Job description

Our Partner is supporting a U.S. Government customer to provide support for onsite incident response to civilian Government agencies and critical asset owners who experience cyber-attacks, providing immediate investigation and resolution. Contract personnel perform investigations to characterize of the severity of breaches, develop mitigation plans, and assist with the restoration of services. They are seeking a motivated Network Engineer to implement, maintain and support the lab network infrastructure.
Responsibilities
  • Leverage advanced analytical and technical skills to design and implement infrastructure solutions that enhance mission execution and support command decision-making
  • Support the integration of new technologies and equipment within lab environments, including development and refinement of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and policies
  • Assess network topology and device configurations, identify critical security vulnerabilities, and recommend security best practices
  • Provide user support for Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) such as Citrix, as well as MacOS and iOS platforms
  • Troubleshoot and resolve a broad range of technical issues, from basic to complex network problems
  • Implement granular access controls, monitor system performance and accessibility, establish and maintain backup protocols, and ensure system security
  • Diagnose and resolve complex enterprise storage issues across local and wide area networks, including replication strategy support and remediation of storage-related incidents
  • Design, build, and maintain robust network environments by configuring routers, switches, and firewalls, as well as updating network devices and performing IP address audits
  • Ensure optimal network performance by troubleshooting issues, enforcing system standards, and collaborating with stakeholders to optimize infrastructure
  • Secure network systems through policy enforcement, access controls, and continuous monitoring

Requirements
  • US Citizenship; Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)
  • Must be able to obtain DHS Suitability
  • BS Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Systems Engineering or related degree; or HS Diploma and 7+ years network administration, network engineering or systems administration experience
  • 5+ years of directly relevant experience in network administration
  • Proficiency with multiple operating systems, including Linux/Unix and MacOS
  • Strong knowledge and experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Experience and knowledge of networking and network administration
  • Skilled in working with virtual desktop environments (Citrix, VMware)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively across physical locations
  • Desired Certifications: DoD 8140.01 IAT Level II; Network+; CCNA

Desired Skills
  • Familiarity with Palo Alto firewalls and Cisco switches
  • Experience with converged infrastructure solutions (e.g., FlexPod) and NetApp storage systems
  • Proficiency with Cisco Intersight, vCenter, and virtualization automation/optimization
  • Strong documentation skills for technical procedures and SOPs
