Job description

Position Summary:

The Warehouse Assistant Manager is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant handling of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods over multiple shifts. This role leads warehouse team members, maintains inventory accuracy, and ensures adherence to food safety, quality, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, cost management, and logistics
  • Strong knowledge of Safety programs and Continuous Improvement
  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Solid understanding of food safety standards
  • Previous experience in performing SQF audits, Safety audits
  • Leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Partner closely with production, quality, and logistics teams to support manufacturing schedules
  • Enforce GMPs and sanitation standards
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, temperature-controlled environments
  • Comfortable working in cold/freezer environments
  • Ability to operate warehouse equipment
  • Requires flexible schedule, including weekends or overtime
  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Responsible for managing leaders who supervise their respective teams

Qualifications

Required

  • 5-10+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in food manufacturing
  • 4-6+ years of managerial experience
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
  • Applies analytical thinking to support decision-making and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Spanish C2 (Mastery) and can convey technical concepts and material

Preferred

  • Demonstrated expertise in WMS and MES systems
  • Experience with ERP (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite)
  • Experience in implementation and deployment of scanning hardware systems and/or RFID
  • Bilingual: English/Spanish
