What is Netflix work?

Netflix work refers to employment opportunities at Netflix, Inc., a global streaming entertainment service and production company. Jobs at Netflix range from content creation and software engineering to marketing, customer support, and data analytics. Employees are known for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment driven by a unique company culture that values freedom and responsibility. Job description

At Netflix, our mission is to entertain the world. Together, we are writing the next episode - pushing the boundaries of storytelling, global fandom and making the unimaginable a reality. We are a dream team obsessed with the uncomfortable excitement of discovering what happens when you merge creativity, intuition and cutting-edge technology. Come be a part of what's next.
Netflix is seeking a Manager to join the Games Content Acquisition & Licensing team, focused on delivering the business development and partnership strategy for our external development ecosystem. This is a high-impact role responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and executing deals that expand our games portfolio through world-class external partners.
The ideal candidate's core focus will be structuring and driving co-development and work-for-hire partnerships, supported by strong deal making instincts and a deep understanding of the game development landscape. They should be skilled at matching the right external teams to the right internal opportunities, and ideally bring a genuine passion for indie game development and a sharp eye for emerging talent. This role is critical to helping Netflix Games scale with quality and creative integrity.
Responsibilities
  • Evaluate, negotiate, and close key co-development and work-for-hire partnerships across cloud streaming and mobile games that help grow the footprint of Netflix Games with creators and developers of all sizes.
  • Demonstrate fluency in complex legal and business issues within contracts, and develop thoughtful, win-win solutions with partners.
  • Analyze the co-development and work-for-hire competitive landscape, and translate insights into actionable sourcing strategies and partnership plans.
  • Partner closely with Production Operations and the Lead Outsourcing Manager to help expand Netflix's global network of co-development and work-for-hire studios through strategic relationships with top external development partners.
  • Bring a strong understanding of the indie game development landscape, including emerging studios, breakout titles, and creative trends that can inform sourcing strategy and longer-term partnership opportunities.
  • Operate with agility across a rapidly evolving product and business landscape.
  • Collaborate with a broad range of internal stakeholders to identify the best co-development and work-for-hire partnership targets based on the needs of the game, genre, feature set, production goals and business.

Qualifications
  • Strong experience sourcing partnerships in a gaming environment, with experience across mobile, console, and PC preferred.
  • Strong expertise in negotiation and deal construction, including the legal aspects of co-development and work-for-hire partnership commercial negotiations.
  • Solid understanding of game production process flows with some experience shipping games (social, F2P, mobile, PC, console, handheld).
  • Deep knowledge of co-development and work-for-hire industry trends, competitor dynamics, regional market conditions, and emerging business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn market insight and partner evaluations into clear recommendations.
  • Demonstrated passion for and knowledge of the indie game development scene, with a strong instinct for quality, awareness of emerging studios and games, and an informed perspective on industry trends and creative direction.
  • Proven track record of driving a broad range of game partnership deal types across co-development and work-for-hire.
  • Strong product sense and the ability to assess both executional capability and creative potential across a wide range of external partners.
  • Experience learning new technologies quickly and distilling information into actionable insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships with both internal and external partners.
  • Deep knowledge of gaming business models, with experience in game subscription services preferred.
  • Experience thriving in a fast-paced, highly ambiguous environment.

Generally, our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000.00 - $340,000.00. This compensation range will vary based on location.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
