Job description

Job Summary:
Dev Technology is seeking a Senior Platform Security Engineer to manage, secure, and optimize mission-critical platforms for a federal client. This role combines deep technical expertise in system performance, cybersecurity, automation, and DevOps methodologies to ensure resilient and compliant infrastructure supporting national security objectives.
Responsibilities:
• Continuously monitor system performance and implement corrective actions across current platforms.
• Manage and maintain integrations leveraging networking concepts such as TCP/IP, routing, and firewalls.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify and remediate risks.
• Develop and maintain security incident response plans and procedures.
• Create and implement automation scripts and tools to streamline deployments, provisioning, and management tasks.
• Deploy and manage machines using VMware, vCenter, Kickstart, Puppet, Foreman, and CIS-CAT.
• Configure and manage host-based security systems.
• Apply DevOps methodologies and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) within RHEL container environments.
• Utilize tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, IBM NetCool, and SolarWinds for system health and performance.
• Patch and maintain systems using Red Hat Satellite Server.
• Provide hands-on support for servers and workstations.
• Familiarity with AWS and Azure for managing and securing cloud environments is a plus.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned to support mission-critical operations.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Active Secret clearance required.
• U.S. Citizenship required (dual citizens not eligible due to federal contract requirements).
• Experience with federal government contracts, with a preference for contracts under Homeland Security.
• Minimum 12 years in a related technical field.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift.
• Expertise in VMware, vCenter, Kickstart, Puppet, Foreman, CIS-CAT.
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, routing, firewalls).
• Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, IBM NetCool, SolarWinds).
• Proficiency in Red Hat Satellite Server for patch management.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and IaC within RHEL containers.
• Candidates must reside within a commutable distance for daily onsite work and meet recall/on-call requirements in a 24x7x365 environment.

• Team player and fast learner with the ability to work proactively and independently.
• Strong problem-solving skills to support geographically diverse mission-critical operations.
