Position Summary

A&M Technologies is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator III to support a federal Operations & Maintenance (O&M) program. This individual will serve as a senior member of the infrastructure team responsible for maintaining mission-critical enterprise systems supporting a high-availability government environment.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience administering Windows and Linux environments, virtualization platforms, enterprise storage, disaster recovery, system hardening, patch management, and troubleshooting complex infrastructure issues. The candidate will also provide technical leadership, mentor junior administrators, and support modernization initiatives.


Primary Responsibilities
  • Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) server environments.
  • Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, hardening, and lifecycle management of enterprise infrastructure.
  • Support VMware virtualization environments including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), virtual machines, clusters, and virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI).
  • Support Cisco HyperFlex infrastructure and enterprise storage platforms including NetApp.
  • Perform server patching, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening in accordance with DoD security requirements.
  • Maintain Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, and authentication services.
  • Support enterprise backup, replication, disaster recovery (DR), and Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning.
  • Perform root cause analysis for production incidents and provide advanced troubleshooting support.
  • Maintain Citrix infrastructure and other enterprise application platforms.
  • Support enterprise monitoring solutions including SolarWinds.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation including:
    • SOPs
    • Runbooks
    • As-built documentation
    • System diagrams
    • Capacity plans
    • Disaster Recovery documentation
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and develop proof-of-concepts for government review.
  • Participate in Configuration Control Board (CCB) activities.
  • Coordinate infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernization efforts.
  • Support Help Desk escalations and participate in an on-call rotation.
  • Provide after-hours support for Priority 1 outages with a required 2-hour response.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 8+ years of Systems Administration experience.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance.
  • DoD 8140/8570 compliant certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
  • Strong experience administering:
    • Windows Server 2016/2019/2022
    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Experience supporting VMware infrastructure.
  • Experience supporting enterprise storage solutions.
  • Experience with enterprise backup and disaster recovery.
  • Experience performing patch management and vulnerability remediation.
  • Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, and DHCP.
  • Experience creating technical documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across Windows, Linux, virtualization, and enterprise infrastructure.
  • Ability to support on-call operations and after-hours maintenance.
