Switchgear Technician
Location: Chesapeake, VA
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6 AM - 4 PM
Type: Direct Hire
About the company:
Our client is one of the largest independently owned motor and pump shops in the U.S. that focuses on rebuilding and remanufacturing rotating electrical and mechanical equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding and knowledge of NETA standards, IEEE specifications and NEMA specifications as they pertain to low and medium voltage switchgear.
- Good technical understanding and application of all types of switchgear, protective relaying and controls of switchgear, including the operation, maintenance and testing.
- Hands-on experience on low and medium voltage switchgear, including disassembly, component inspection/repair, reassembly, and testing.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems in shop and field.
- Train personnel to troubleshoot, repair, and test power distribution equipment.
