Job description


Primary purpose:
The primary purpose of this role is to maintain, integrate and optimize the organization's IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and maintaining operational technology systems, with a focus on ensuring seamless operations and data flow.
Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Responsibilities focus upon intermediate development of Maximo MAS deployment utilizing various technology to include: web-based applications using C#, Python, Java, REST API/JSON, SQL, enterprise environments and others as relevant.
  • Research, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and installing to support the organization's Maximo Management of Change (MOC) and Enterprise Asset Management System (EAMS) solution
  • Work with the functional user groups to design, test and troubleshoot the deployed Maximo MAS applications.
  • Engaged in the collection and interpretation of functional users' requirements and participation in the identification, technical translation, development, and implementation of solutions to meet those needs, primarily as they relate to bolt-on applications, interfaces between the systems, reporting and data collection for various internal and external audit requests.
  • Other duties include working with users and software vendors to address financial application related issues and application upgrade activities.
  • Converts project specifications, using flowcharts and diagrams, into sequence of detailed instructions and logical steps for coding into language able to be processed by computer, applying knowledge of computer programming techniques and computer languages.
  • Creates reports in Maximo's BIRT toolset and/or Power BI.
  • After hours support is an additional responsibility shared with others in the group.
  • Writes documentation to describe program development, logic, coding, and corrections.
  • Regularly works under deadlines.
  • Supports user training on various programs.
  • Provide technical assistance to program users.
  • Monitor performance of solution after implementation.
  • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.
  • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
  • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
  • Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, for the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
  • Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified and defined.

Qualifications
Education:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Management, Information Systems, Business Management, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of five (5) years direct work experience in Maximo as a software developer may be considered as a substitute for a degree.

Experience/Specific Knowledge:
  • Minimum of two (2) years recent experience focusing on system development, support, implementation, and upgrades.
  • Minimum of two (2) years development experience using C#, Python, Java, REST API/JSON and SQL.
  • Experience in the full product development life cycle.
  • Established SQL skills in MS SQL and/or Oracle databases.
  • Experience with DevOps practices to include: git, git-hub, versioning, and source control.
  • Ability to read and write code that implements business logic within Model methods, properties, and events.
  • Must be customer service oriented.
  • Analytical thinker who can utilize functional understanding of the various components of systems in conjunction with technical knowledge to identify effective and efficient problem resolutions.
  • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills; must communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel.
  • Ability to work well both individually with minimal supervision and in a team environment where the sharing of knowledge is highly regarded and expected.
  • Ability to multitask effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Experience in an application development environment using WinForms, Microsoft.Net or equivalent technology.
  • Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate systems requirements verbally and in writing.
  • Experience in effectively communicating business and technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in working on multiple assignments during the same time frame juggling tasks based on relative priorities with supervision commensurate with grade level.
  • Use time effectively and efficiently.
  • Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Certifications, Licenses & Registrations:
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).
  • Application Developer certification(s) preferred:
    • IBM Certified Deployment Professional - Maximo Manage v8.0
