Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team in Huntsville, Alabama, as a NET team trainer, production quality tester, subject matter expert in aviation services and field services support. This multi-role position is critical to the successful development, deployment, and sustainment of the Aviation Ground Power Unit (AGPU) 1.1 for the US Army. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring product quality, providing essential field support, delivery of new equipment training, and contributing to the overall program management efforts.

Approximate time break out (may change depending on current workload)

  • 85% Testing and Production Support
  • 10% NET training
  • 5% Field Service


Responsibilities

  • Production Quality Tester:
    • Act as a technical expert during production quality functional testing, documenting in-depth analysis of component and system performance.
    • Interpret complex technical data packages, schematics, and test procedures.
  • Field Support & Troubleshooting:
    • Provide on-site technical assistance and troubleshooting support for the AGPU 1.1 in the field.
    • Diagnose complex technical issues and provide timely and effective solutions.
    • Liaise directly with military personnel to understand their operational needs and challenges.
    • Document field issues, resolutions, and trends to inform design improvements and future training.
    • Coordinate with engineering and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of spare parts and technical solutions.
    • Act as a primary point of contact for customer inquiries and technical support requests.
  • New Equipment Training (NET):
    • Develop and deliver comprehensive New Equipment Training (NET) Operator and Maintainer Courseware to US Army and foreign military personnel on the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the AGPU 1.1.
    • Conduct training sessions at various CONUS and OCONUS locations as required.
    • Evaluate training effectiveness and provide feedback for continuous improvement.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of quality management systems and processes (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Proficiency in using precision measuring instruments and testing equipment.
  • Excellent technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse audiences, including military personnel and foreign customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong Understanding of Hydraulics, Pneumatics, and Electrical Systems.
  • Strong Hands on Mechanical and Electrical Aptitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.


Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in quality inspection, field service, or a related technical role, preferably within the defense or aerospace industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom instruction delivery in a military environment
  • Proven experience with military equipment, particularly ground power units or similar complex systems.
  • Experience in developing and delivering technical training programs.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess or be able to obtain a security clearance.


Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience with the US Army acquisition process.
  • Familiarity with ground power unit technologies.


Working Conditions

  • Office and Manufacturing Area
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, get on floor, and reach with hands and arms. Steel/Composite toe Shoes required (company provides reimbursable allowance).
  • Prolonged periods standing and working on production floor utilizing an array of different mechanical and electrical tools
  • 100% On-Site.
  • Travel: Ability and willingness to travel approximately 25% of the time, both domestically and internationally, to support NET and field operations. A US passport is required.
