Manufacturing Shift Leader Coating Operations & High-Volume Production

$70,000 - $90,000 Base + Premium Weekend Pay Greater Green Bay Area

Experience Depth: 5 to 10 years of manufacturing supervisory experience within a high-volume production, web handling, paper, coating, or converting environment preferred. Labor Expertise: Prior experience leading teams within a unionized facility, maintaining a strong understanding of professional contract administration and conflict resolution. Work Schedule: Rotating 12-hour shifts (alternating days and nights) featuring a built-in 6-day block off every 3 weeks. Earning Potential: $70,000 to $90,000 starting base salary + significant weekend premiums (Time-and-a-half Saturdays / Double-time Sundays) + extensive corporate benefits. Elite Benefits: Fully company-funded pension, 401(k) matching, up to 7 weeks of vacation, and access to private, free onsite medical clinics. Location: Greater Green Bay, WI area (100% onsite production facility environment).

This is an opportunity to join a massive, privately held, multi-billion dollar packaging manufacturer that has operated for decades with unmatched organizational stability. Having recently completed a $100M facility expansion with additional growth currently underway, this site represents a deep, long-term commitment to its Wisconsin operations.

This is a career-defining leadership track designed for a professional who respects the structure of a union environment and wants a total compensation package that is virtually unmatched in the Midwest. Managing a dedicated shift of 25 to 30 hourly employees within a high-speed coating department, you will bridge the gap between daily throughput goals and long-term continuous improvement. It is the ideal setup for a stable leader who wants to plant deep roots in a modern, expanding facility where employee investments come first and average professional tenures are measured in decades.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Shift Floor Leadership: Providing daily leadership, motivation, and operational direction for 2530 hourly employees within a unionized coating and production environment.
  • Operational Management: Managing shift production schedules, maintaining rigorous quality standards, and enforcing strict departmental safety compliance.
  • Quality & Technical Liaison: Overseeing in-process quality documentation and coordinating corrective actions with Technical and Engineering departments.
  • Maintenance Partnership: Partnering closely with the Maintenance team to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and manage active work order priorities.
  • Workforce Development: Directing employee attendance, daily job assignments, and specialized cross-training requirements to maximize operational flexibility.
  • Digital Metrics Tracking: Utilizing localized ERP systems for real-time production reporting, inventory management, and operational documentation.
  • Continuous Improvement: Supporting continuous improvement initiatives (Lean/Six Sigma) to optimize floor safety, line productivity, and material cost-efficiency.
What We Are Looking For
  • Regulated Manufacturing Pedigree: 5 to 10 years of verifiable supervisory experience in high-volume, fast-paced manufacturing; experience in paper science, coating, web handling, pressure-sensitive films, or converting is a strong plus.
  • Labor Relations Literacy: Comfortable navigating the nuances of a collective bargaining agreement, maintaining fair labor practices, and administering contracts with professional diplomacy.
  • Schedule Commitment: Full ability and willingness to work a rotating 12-hour day/night shift schedule, including alternating weekends.
  • Technical Literacy: Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook) and comfort utilizing complex ERP or inventory tracking software.
  • Employment Reliability: A rock-solid, stable work history demonstrating long-term commitment and reliable performance with previous employers; frequent job-hopping is a disqualifier.
