JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a highly motivated Intern to join our Technology Team and help develop AI-driven agents using Microsoft 365 Copilot Studio. In this role, you will work closely with our Transformation and Aftermarket teams to create and deploy intelligent "Copilot" agents that leverage business data to assist our employees. This is a unique opportunity to apply your academic knowledge in mathematics and engineering to real-world projects, gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge AI technologies, and contribute to the expansion of our AI capabilities. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about learning, has strong analytical skills, and is excited to work on the forefront of enterprise AI solutions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Key Responsibilities:

  • Agent Development: Assist in designing, building, and testing AI agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio. You will help create custom AI assistants (chatbots) that improve internal processes and solve business problems.
  • Collaborative Innovation: Work closely with the Transformation and Aftermarket teams to implement new agent features and refine existing ones. This includes brainstorming ideas for agent capabilities and participating in solution design discussions.
  • Data Integration: Support integration of internal data sources and APIs to ensure agents are providing accurate, context-aware responses. Help configure connectors or datasets for the AI agents as needed.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting: Conduct thorough testing of AI agent interactions. Identify and document any issues or "edge cases," and collaborate on debugging or refining the agent's performance (e.g., improving prompts, refining logic).
  • Documentation: Contribute to documentation and training materials for the AI agents. This may involve writing user guides or technical notes about how to set up, use, or update the agents.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in AI and machine learning relevant to Copilot Studio and agent development. Bring fresh ideas from your coursework (or independent learning) to enhance our projects.

Required Qualifications:

  • Enrollment & Academic Standing: Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field. Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.8/4.0 (required).
  • Technical Aptitude: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Comfortable with technology and able to learn new software tools quickly. Some familiarity with programming or scripting (e.g., Python, Java, or similar) and data handling.
  • Communication Skills: Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, ask questions, and present findings or suggestions clearly.
  • Availability: Ability to commit ~24 hours per week for a 12-month internship. Must be able to work on-site in Auburn Hills, MI for one to two days per week (with the remaining hours worked remotely).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering & Math Background: Coursework or experience in advanced mathematics, algorithms, or engineering principles. (For example, classes in linear algebra, statistics, machine learning, or software design.) These skills will aid in understanding AI model behaviors - preferred but not required.
  • AI/ML & Data Experience: Familiarity with concepts of artificial intelligence, machine learning, or natural language processing. Prior project work or internship experience with AI (such as building a chatbot, using an AI API, etc.) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Copilot/Low-Code Platforms: Experience with Microsoft Power Platform, Copilot Studio, or other low-code app development environments. If you have built bots or automation using tools like Power Virtual Agents, that is beneficial.
  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, C#, Java, etc.) and exposure to software development practices (version control, debugging) are nice-to-have skills that will help you ramp up faster.
  • Adaptability: A growth mindset and willingness to dive into new challenges. The ability to adapt to evolving project needs and learn new techniques or frameworks on the fly.

Join us and kick-start your career by working on exciting AI projects in a supportive environment. If you're passionate about technology and eager to learn, we encourage you to apply and become a part of our innovative Technology Team!
