Job description

Are you a detail-driven QA professional with a passion for continuous improvement in a highly regulated manufacturing environment? We're looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist to strengthen our Quality Management System and help drive excellence across the organization.

About the Role

In this role, you'll combine First Article Inspection (AS9102) creation and review, quality investigations, and contract/drawing review to ensure compliance with ISO 9001/AS9100 standards. You'll work cross-functionally with engineering, operations, and suppliers to resolve issues, promote best practices, and uphold the highest quality standards.

What You'll Do

Review contracts, purchase orders, drawings, and quality notes for compliance with customer and specification requirements

Review process travelers against drawings and customer requirements; interface with engineering and operations on new product transfers

Draft and review AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), including DISCUS and Net Inspect/customer portals

Lead root cause investigations (CAPA, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone) for internal and external quality issues

Develop, implement, and verify corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs); manage the CAR database

Oversee special process quality requirements and plating/process coupon control

Generate and maintain quality performance metrics for management review

Continuously improve inspection processes, procedures, and the QMS

What You Bring

5+ years of progressive quality assurance/quality control experience, including AS9100 quality programs

5+ years of experience in mechanical inspection applications

Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and root cause/CAPA methodologies

Familiarity with 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and 8D

Proficiency in Excel, GD&T applications, and Microsoft Office Suite

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or related field preferred

ASQ CQA, CIA, or Lean Six Sigma certification a plus

General CMM programming knowledge a plus

Work Environment

This role involves time both at a desk and on the manufacturing floor, including standing, walking, and occasional lifting up to 25 lbs. Comfort with PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toed footwear) and working near industrial machinery is required. This is a designated safety-sensitive position.
