Nestle USA, Inc. seeks multiple Senior Specialist Product Development in Fremont MI

Duties: Contribute to both the top and bottom line of the business by creating and commercializing new products, and line extensions, ensuring continuity of supply and generating/implementing cost savings. Lead problem solving initiatives to correct deviations that can be driven by ingredients or processing challenges. Build cross functional teams to gain alignment on remediation and next steps. Complete required documentation to ensure food safety and quality. Ensure that products comply to all Nestle requirements. Design, execute and analyze experimental approach for product design. Establish critical attribute information for Product/ingredient specifications, in-process control points and testing requirements. Coordinate and conduct pilot plant trials and factory scale trials utilizing the appropriate forum. Provide technical guidance for existing ingredient/vendor issues and qualify new ingredients/vendors to ensure supply to internal factories as well as CoManufacturing locations. Create and maintain recipes.. Provide technical support to cross functional partners (Procurement, Quality, CoManufacturing, factories). Investigate new technologies, ingredients and manufacturers to drive innovation and increase shelf presence. Telework is acceptable up to 2 days per week.

Requirements:

Job requires a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study plus 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a Senior Scientist, Senior Food Scientist or related role. Required experience must include all of the following:

  • 5 years of product development experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) focusing on food;
  • 5 years of experience in commercializing products from concept to launch;
  • 5 years of experience identifying and executing production or material substitutions that result in cost savings;
  • 5 years of experience in solving technical manufacturing and food stability issues;
  • 5 years of experience working with factories to improve product quality;
  • 3 years of experience in Thermal processing effect on food safety and quality.

Work Location: 445 State Street, Fremont MI 49413. Telework is acceptable up to 2 days per week.
