To thrive in a Nesting role, which typically refers to a specialist in optimizing material layouts for manufacturing processes, you need strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a background in CAD or CAM systems. Proficiency with nesting software such as SigmaNEST, AutoCAD, or similar tools is often required, and familiarity with manufacturing standards or certifications can be advantageous. Excellent problem-solving abilities, communication, and teamwork help you work effectively within production teams and with engineers. These skills ensure efficient use of materials, cost savings, and smooth collaboration across departments in manufacturing environments.
