We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Designer / Programmer to support the design, programming, and production of granite, quartz, and natural stone countertop projects. This position is responsible for creating accurate CAD drawings, CAM programs, CNC toolpaths, and slab layouts that drive fabrication efficiency and installation success.

What You'll Do:


  • Create accurate CAD drawings and layouts for fabrication and installation
  • Develop CAM programs and assign tool paths for saw jet and CNC router operations
  • Create efficient slab layouts using Slabsmith and related software
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure accuracy and fabrication readiness
  • Release jobs to production according to schedule and production calendar requirements
  • Identify potential design, fabrication, or installation issues before production begins
  • Optimize slab utilization and remnant yield through efficient nesting and layout design
  • Communicate project changes, concerns, and production issues in a timely manner
  • Apply countertop fabrication knowledge to improve quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction
  • Work closely with production, project management, and installation teams to ensure project success
  • Complete all work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail


Qualifications Required:


  • Associate's Degree in Drafting/Design, or High School Diploma/GED with at least 2 years of related drafting, design, or programming experience
  • Experience using - AutoCAD, Alphacam, Slabsmith, CAM Programming Software, and/or similar technology
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong mathematical aptitude
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to follow established processes and procedures consistently


Preferred:


  • Experience with stone fabrication, countertop manufacturing, CNC machining, or related industries
  • Experience fabricating stone with CNC equipment or similar technology
