At Oak Orchard Health, we believe data is more than numbers-it's a powerful tool to improve lives. We're looking for a Data Scientist who is passionate about transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support high-quality, patient-centered care across our communities.

In this role, you'll partner with clinical, financial, quality, and operational teams to build reports, uncover trends, and support smarter decision-making. If you enjoy solving problems, working across teams, and making a real impact in healthcare, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do:

Support the development and deployment of machine learning models (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, forecasting) to generate predictive insights and inform organizational decision-making

Design and develop reports, interactive dashboards, and automated reporting pipelines using Power BI and Python

Analyze and translate complex data into clear, actionable insights

Write and optimize SQL queries (PostgreSQL, MySQL), including joins, stored procedures, and nested queries

Collaborate with teams across the organization to understand reporting needs and deliver custom reports, dashboards, and analytical views

Support and manage integrations with third-party reporting tools (e.g., Relevant, Azara, BridgeIT)

Maintain user access and serve as a key liaison with external data/reporting partners

Build a strong understanding of EMR workflows to bridge the gap between clinical systems and data infrastructure

Partner with CMO/QAPI on regulatory and grant reporting (UDS, HEDIS, etc.)

Document data sources, definitions, and reporting logic to support organizational knowledge

Validate data quality and reconcile discrepancies between source systems

What You Bring:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science or a related field

Experience working with SQL and data analysis tools

Familiarity with Claude Code or Codex

Exposure to integrating machine learning or predictive models into EMR workflows is preferred

Willingness to learn new tools and an interest in leading improvement projects that streamline data flow and strengthen data governance

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities

A proactive, self-driven mindset-you don't wait for problems, you solve them

Strong communication skills and comfort working with cross-functional teams

Willingness to travel between Oak Orchard locations as needed

HIPAA knowledge and experience handling PHI safely, including de-identification practices

Familiarity with UDS reporting requirements (HRSA)

Experience with HEDIS, MIPS/MACRA, or PCMH quality measures

Why Oak Orchard Health?

You'll be part of a mission-driven organization focused on expanding access to quality healthcare across Western New York. Your work will directly support the teams delivering care-and ultimately, the patients we serve every day.
