Job Title: Laser Programmer

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Full-Time
FECON, LLC is a vegetation management equipment manufacturer located in Lebanon, Ohio near Kings Island Amusement Park. Job Summary:
The Laser/ Press Brake Programmer uses information from the ERP system to schedule and program laser and break activity. Uses knowledge of the equipment and programming skills to set up machines for the most efficient operation and material usage. Maintains workflow and inputs for production schedule through laser and break. Well versed with laser cutting and break press equipment and helps solve problems.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Programs equipment to run daily and weekly demands.
  • Schedules all weekly, monthly, and yearly maintenance on laser and break press equipment.
  • Monitors daily consumable stock items, including raw materials, laser and break operational consumables items.
  • Assists in selecting proper press dies.
  • Understands and performs set-ups and teardowns on related equipment.
  • Closely monitors requirements for metal materials.
  • Requests needed materials directly from purchasing.
  • Assists in and guides routine maintenance on equipment and assists in the establishment of the preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Directs and monitors training needs for new employees, new tasks and or new equipment. Completes all documentation as needed and ensures all training procedures are followed.
  • Communicates effectively with shift production employees on a regular basis. Works with employees toward a supportive environment and resolves minor grievances.
  • Communicates/escalates daily information, trends and concerns.
  • Inputs accurate data entry to ERP management system.
  • Carries out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision.
  • Strong PC and organizational skills.
  • Adopts and promotes lean practices in all equipment and material usage.
  • Knows and understands specification criteria prior to performing machining functions.
  • Reads and understands blueprint and work instructions to determine procedure for machining product.
  • Operates equipment according to training and/or equipment specifications.
  • Works effectively with personnel at various levels within the organization, from a broad range of backgrounds.
  • Ability to effectively use a variety of common inspection tools as required by project tasks.
  • Must be able to work effectively individually and in a team environment.
  • Ability to multitask with a strong attention to detail.
  • Possesses the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organization and proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Uses technical mathematics, measurement tools, and statistical techniques in the performance of tasks.
Education and Experience:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience using Ncell nesting, CADMAN LVD press break, Syteline ERP.
  • Must be proficient in sheet metal blueprint reading, basic shop math, and use of precision measuring equipment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
  • Uses overhead cranes and jib cranes.
  • Most work performed standing at floor level.
