The unit consists of 35 beds with a fast-paced environment conducive to effective patient care. The team dynamic is strengthened by positive attitudes, strong communication skills, and a dedication to helping others.
Scheduling Details
All new hires will undergo training that includes onboarding the first week and an additional 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation. A pass/fail exam will be administered at the end of the orientation period.

Position Overview
This position is for a Registered Nurse (RN) in a progressive care unit (PCU) providing care for adult and geriatric patients with various diagnoses, including cardiac conditions, nephrology, strokes, diabetes, and continuous EEG monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care while maintaining a ratio of 1:4-5 patients per nurse.
- Monitor and titrate drips including but not limited to Cardizem, beta blockers, and seizure medications.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Utilize critical thinking skills to provide safe and effective nursing care.
- Work effectively as a team member, assisting colleagues and maintaining clear communication.
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
- A valid driver's license is necessary for this position.
- Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).
The unit consists of 35 beds with a fast-paced environment conducive to effective patient care. The team dynamic is strengthened by positive attitudes, strong communication skills, and a dedication to helping others.
Scheduling Details
- Shifts are 12 hours in duration, with hours typically from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.
- Weekend requirements entail every other weekend.
- Holiday requirements involve working every third holiday.
All new hires will undergo training that includes onboarding the first week and an additional 1-2 days of unit-specific orientation. A pass/fail exam will be administered at the end of the orientation period.
Additional Information
- Artificial nails are prohibited within the unit.
- RTO must be presented upfront, with a limit of 7 days or fewer per 13-week contract.
- No call or standby requirements are necessary for this role.
- Floating may occur to medical floors, ICU, or rehabilitation as needed.
