You'll be engaged in fieldwork that may involve safely climbing steel structures such as buildings, cell phone towers, and water tanks to heights exceeding 200 feet, using fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems.Inspection and Non-Destructive Testing: Conduct inspections and deploy non-destructive testing methods to uphold impeccable quality standards. A significant portion of field inspection time is spent performing non-destructive testing (NDT) duties such as ultrasonic inspection (UT) of welds and/or magnetic particle testing (MT) of welds.Project Testing Assignments: Juggle testing assignments across projects, contributing to the success of each endeavor.Equipment Maintenance and Calibration: Maintain testing equipment in working order and calibration; can include managing field and laboratory equipment inventories, formal calibration records, and participating in quality systems audits.Report Creation: Craft detailed reports to effectively communicate findings.This position may require working 50+ hours per week (during periods of peak workload), as well as off-shift and weekend work, as needed. Experience in Safety, DDC, NDT, and Radiation Training, including the use of fall protection equipment and personal fall arrest systems, is a plus.About You:You have a High School Diploma/GEDYou have a minimum of 2 years of NDT/NDE metals testing experience OR an Associate's degree in a closely related fieldYou have active industry-related certifications:AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification or working towards itAMPP Coating Inspector Level I or IIAchievement of ASNT Level II certification per ASNT-SNT-TC-1A in at least one methodAdditional certifications, a plus:ICC certification in Building Inspections and/or Structural Steel InspectionLevel II for UT certificationLevel II for PT, MT certificationsYou have a valid U.S. driver's license or an International Driving Permit (IDP) valid for driving in the United States, with an acceptable driving recordYou can safely operate a company-assigned vehicle, including trucks and SUVsYou are willing to complete a background check, driving record check, and drug screen upon offer of employmentYou Are Willing and Able to:Perform the physical demands of the position with the use of company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:Working the majority of the time outdoors in varying weather conditionsClimbing heights over 200 feetRoutinely lifting and carrying 40-50 lbs. of materials and equipmentSafely handling field tools and maneuvering equipment on active construction sitesWorking outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out-of-town and/or overnight) as project needs ariseGrow With Us:At S&ME, your career growth matters.
