LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions is seeking Aerospace NDT Test Tech's for an opportunity in Renton, WA
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree in a related field preferred. Documented formal training in Nondestructive testing is required but may be added as necessary.
  • Certification: NAS410/BSS7698 Level 2 certification in at least one NDT method (e.g., Ultrasonic, Eddy Current, Radiographic).
  • Strong understanding of NDT principles and techniques.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ethical standards with a desire to maintain a high level of quality.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Candidates must be willing to train outside of the Washington location listed to obtain the NDT certification.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsible for performing and overseeing nondestructive testing (NDT) procedures in accordance with NAS410/BSS7698 standards.
This role is critical in ensuring the integrity and safety of aerospace components and systems.
The technician will utilize various NDT methods, including but not limited to ultrasonic, eddy current, radiographic, magnetic particle, and dye penetrant testing, to detect defects and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to set up and standardize equipment, conduct system performance checks, process parts, interpret and evaluate for acceptance or rejection, and document results.
  • Successfully obtain the formal training hours required for any method where certification is being pursued, and any additional add-on formal training required by the company based on the demands of the business. (e.g. Computed Tomography training).
  • Be thoroughly familiar with the scope and limitations of the technique and/or method in which they are certified.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of NDT procedures and work instructions.
  • Have the skills and knowledge to conduct system performance checks in accordance with the applicable process standard.
  • Be familiar with the codes, standards, and other contractual specifications that control the Method used at their Site.
  • Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and Level 1 personnel in the technique and/or method in which they are certified and applicable safety protocols.
  • Have a basic knowledge of relevant product manufacturing and inspection technology.
  • Maintain NDT equipment and ensure it is calibrated and functioning correctly.
  • Inspect and report any issues with or damage to reference standards used to perform the approved technique to the method level 3 and NDT manager.
  • Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to address any non-conformance issues.
  • Participate in audits and inspections as required by regulatory bodies and internal quality systems.
  • Stay current with industry standards, advancements in NDT technology, and best practices.
  • Have basic knowledge of aircraft or vehicle maintenance
  • Be capable of developing written work instructions from approved general procedures. Such instructions require final approval by an Engineer Level 3, or Level 3 certified in the method.
  • May be delegated to perform certain method surveillances in EPES, and also work to address any findings identified in an EPES surveillance when required.
