Varying shifts available, inquire at the time of interview. Starting wage $40.000/hour. Additional $3.00/hour facility differential for hours worked, plus $1.50 - $2.50 shift differential. We want you to join our team!

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,800 inmates. DUTIES:
Perform patient care in a clinic or hospital setting in a correctional institution.
Administer medications, transcribe and carry out doctor's orders, assess patients utilizing protocols, triage, respond to emergencies.
Assist in moving inmate patients.
Assists with inventory and ordering of supplies and medications.


Requirements / Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: A current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nebraska or authority based on the Nurse Licensure Compact to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in Nebraska is required.

Other: Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance. Will complete four to eight weeks of on the job training. Must submit to background security check. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical examination and a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NDCS Pre-service Training Program.
