Job description

Summary
Perform radiographic and other diagnostic imaging procedures to assist providers in the diagnosis of injuries and disease. In addition to x-ray tech duties, this position will also serve as a medical assistant.
Essential Functions
  • Prepare and position the patient for X-rays and explain procedures to patients to obtain cooperation
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified area of the body as requested by the provider.
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working environment and ensure all supplies have been ordered and stocked.
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control.
  • Prepare images for reading by provider as well as contact any additional physicians if a second opinion is needed.
  • Complete forms and maintains records, logs, and reports of work performed.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.
  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation
  • Perform other medical assistant duties as requested by the provider

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent, graduation from an accredited school of Radiologic Sciences and Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) OR NCT (Non-Certified Technician) license in Texas.
  • Previous medical clerical experience preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office.
  • Positive customer service skills.
