Job Title: Housekeeper
Department: Accommodations
Position Summary: Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness at a boarding school and sports training destination located on a 400-acre campus.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform advanced cleaning and sanitation tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, polishing, vacuuming, disinfecting, and other duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.

  • Learn, operate, and maintain floor machines, vacuums, scrubbers, buffers, extractors, and other specialized cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.

  • Complete routine and repetitive housekeeping duties with attention to detail and consistency across all assigned areas.

  • Provide laundry services for dormitories and commercial facilities, including washing, drying, folding, sorting, and distributing linens and personal items

  • Monitor, restock, and maintain cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment, reporting shortages or malfunctions promptly.

  • Collect and remove trash and bulk materials, working with team members or equipment for items that exceed safe lifting guidelines.

  • Maintain accurate cleaning logs, inspection reports, and other documentation in compliance with departmental standards.

  • Organize and maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, laundry rooms, and equipment for efficiency and safety.

  • Follow all safety procedures, including proper handling, labeling, and use of chemicals, ensuring adherence to OSHA and company standards.

  • Identify and report maintenance issues, safety hazards, or equipment repairs, assisting as needed to resolve them promptly.

  • Conduct routine inspections of assigned areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance with quality standards.

  • Respond professionally to guests, students, or staff cleaning requests and special needs

  • Train, mentor, and support less-experienced staff on cleaning techniques, equipment operation, and safety practices.

  • Collaborate effectively with all department leadership and internal departments to support efficient operations and continuously enhance the overall campus experience.

  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent ; additional training or certifications in housekeeping, custodial services, laundry operations, or facilities management is a plus

  • Proven customer service orientation, with ability to interact professionally and courteously with guests, students, and staff

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to high cleanliness and presentation standards

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and perform duties with minimal supervision.

  • Working knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment, chemicals, and best practices; experience in institutional, campus, hotel, or healthcare environments preferred.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Ability to safely lift, carry, push, and pull equipment, supplies, or materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, squat, kneel, reach, stretch, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying temperatures and weather conditions.

  • Ability to work on multiple surfaces, including stairs, hard floors, turf, grass, courts, and walkways
