Job description

Crane Operator
Qualifications:
  • A High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum of three years experience as a Crane Operator required.
  • Experience with hydraulic, friction, and pile driving a plus.
  • NCCCO or NCCER certified for Lattice Boom Crawler Cranes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promotes, executes, and adheres to the company's Health, Safety, and Environmental program.
  • Operates multiple pieces of crane equipment used in underground construction, base preparation and construction, and paving.
  • Operates cranes in a safe and appropriate manner.
  • Completes Standard or Critical Lift form prior to performing required lift.
  • Ensures rigging is inspected and meets the requirements to perform the lift.
  • Performs daily maintenance and conducts operational safety checks of the crane before and after each use. Reports any issues to the Foreman, Superintendent, or Project Manager.
  • Maneuvers crane equipment into loading and unloading positions. Follows signals from loading crew as needed. Checks that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
  • Ensures a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance.
  • Operates crane equipment on public roadways as necessary while maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundings.
  • Performs routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the crane equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and refilling the crane as necessary.
  • Performs other duties or task as required based on company's needs.
