Position Summary
Under the direction of the Head Women's Soccer Coach, the Assistant Women's Soccer Coach supports and enhances the mission of San Diego State University Athletics by assisting with the overall operation of the women's soccer program. The position performs a variety of coaching and administrative responsibilities related to recruiting, coaching goalkeepers, student-athlete development, travel coordination, compliance, game preparation, fundraising, community outreach, and academic support. The incumbent works collaboratively with student-athletes, coaches, campus partners, alumni, and the local soccer community to support a competitive and positive NCAA Division I program environment
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with coaching responsibilities for the women's soccer program, including goalkeeper training, practice preparation, game preparation, and student-athlete development.
- Assist in all aspects of recruiting, including evaluating prospective student-athletes, coordinating visits, maintaining recruiting records, and supporting recruiting travel and communications.
- Support team operations and travel coordination, including itineraries, hotel arrangements, meals, transportation, equipment, and game-day preparation.
- Assist with monitoring student-athlete academic progress, connecting student-athletes to academic support resources, and supporting overall student-athlete success and citizenship.
- Support compliance, fundraising, alumni engagement, community outreach activities, camps, clinics, and special events for the women's soccer program.

Position Information
- This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, temporary position with an anticipated end date of February 28, 2028, with the possibility of reappointment.
- This appointment is for a 10/12 pay-plan position. The incumbent works 10 months per year and is paid over 12 months, with December 15, 2026 - January 15, 2027, February 22, 2027- February 28, 2027, and May 15, 2027 - June 8, 2027.
- This position is designated as exempt under FLSA and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
- Standard SDSU work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs. (Ability to travel to away contests)
- The individual hired into this role will work on campus at SDSU in San Diego.
Department Summary
The Department of Athletics, utilizing the services of over 150 employees, is responsible for the intercollegiate athletics program at San Diego State University. Currently, there are 18 sport programs, approximately 450 student-athletes, and 17 offices in the department. The offices include the following: The Aztec Club, Administration, Athletic Medicine, Business Office, Compliance, Corporate Sales, Development, Equipment, Event Management/Facilities and Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology, Marketing, Media Relations, Strength and Conditioning, Student-Athlete Academic Support Services, Ticket Office, and Video.

- Coaching Goalkeepers for a minimum of 4 years in the NCAA.
- Master's degree in a related field is preferred.
- Four seasons experience coaching NCAA soccer.
- Candidate has passed current NCAA coaches certification test.
- NSCAA Level 2 Gk license.
Licenses/Certifications Required
- Valid California Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.

Salary is based on your experience, education, and qualifications, within the department's budget and equity guidelines.
- CSU Classification Salary Range: $5,507 - $6,677/month; hiring salary not expected to exceed $5,653/month.
