Job description

Summary:
Keuka College is seeking motivated and dependable students to serve as Athletics Event Operations Assistants. In this role, students will help set up, manage, and take down NCAA-sanctioned home games and events. Depending on the size and scope of each event, staffing needs will vary from 4-10 workers. This is an excellent opportunity to gain behind-the-scenes experience in college athletics and event management.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and takedown of athletic events, including:
  1. PA systems, bleachers, benches, and chairs
  2. Scoreboards, scorers' tables, and field equipment (markers, stakes, etc.)
  3. Game-specific roles such as scorekeeping, ball handling, and linesperson duties
  • Compile statistics and create game-day programs for NCAA athletic contests.
  • Adapt to schedule changes due to weather or game rescheduling.
  • Assist with writing, statistical input, photography, and videography for home games and athletics events.
  • Support digital content creation, including social media graphics, game recaps, highlight videos, and promotional materials.
  • Learn and strengthen skills in time management, teamwork, and interpersonal communication.
  • Work effectively under pressure and in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Ensure tasks are performed in compliance with institutional and NCAA regulations.
  • Always maintain a professional and courteous demeanor, representing Keuka College positively.
  • Uphold the privacy of student-athletes and guests, in accordance with FERPA.
  • Consistently support the Keuka College mission, vision, and values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by event or athletics staff.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be a current Keuka College student enrolled in the traditional undergraduate on-campus program.
  • Eligible for a Federal or Keuka College Work-Study award.
  • Flexible and dependable with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and on short notice.
  • Punctual and willing to follow a dress code and event protocols.
  • Able to follow verbal and written instructions regarding event equipment and operations.
  • Demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Comfortable interacting with diverse groups of people, including staff, athletes, and guests.

Physical & Scheduling Requirements:
  • Evening and weekend availability is required.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environments, sometimes in unpredictable weather.
