Job Summary:

Under the direction of the Director of Athletics, the Head Coach will have full responsibility for the sport. Head coaches should have a working knowledge of all conference and NCAA policies, rules, and regulations and adhere to these policies as they pertain to the job.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Managing all aspects of a Division I Women's Lacrosse Program in accordance with Furman University,NCAAand Big South Conference rules

  • Recruiting

  • Providing academic oversight; supervising staff

  • Engaging in community relations and player development

  • Fundraising

  • Any other duties assigned by the Director of Athletics or designee.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and coach members of the women's lacrosse program.

  • Coordinate the total development and promotion of the women's lacrosse program.

  • Generate additional funds for support of the program

  • Organize and schedule practice sessions

  • Schedule contests with approval of the Director of Athletics

  • Responsible for department budget management

  • Effectively manage athletic scholarships

  • Represent Furman University and the women's lacrosse program in a professional manner

  • Provide oversight and training of assistant coaches

Reports To: Associate Athletics Director / Senior Women Administrator

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree

  • Three to five (3-5) years of previous coaching experience at aNCAAinstitution is required

  • Extensive knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations

Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills along with strong organizational and leadership skills.
