Job description

WORK OPTION: The NBA currently provides eligible employees the option of working remotely one day per week.
This is a temporary position with an expected duration not to exceed (6) months.
Position Summary:
This role will be critical in helping to create, implement and optimize institutional media plans for the NBA's league initiatives. These plans utilize the NBA's owned media channels and partner-provided media inventory to support priority tentpoles, direct-to-consumer products, Global Partnerships and Social Responsibility initiatives. The ideal candidate will have strong experience crafting media plans from a fixed/finite set of media assets and be comfortable managing multiple plans/priorities simultaneously.
Candidate must have a solid grasp of media planning (SOV, linear/digital media process, max separation, campaign execution, forecasting, media math) and use this knowledge to recommend plans that deliver on initiative objectives. This role will also work closely with Creative, Global Fan Marketing, Ad Trafficking, Sales, Regional Offices, network partners, affiliate leagues, agencies, media vendors and various internal cross-functional teams.
Major Responsibilities:
  • Track and strategically plan for NBA's domestic & international institutional media channels across various owned and partner national & local in-game, TV, digital and audio and in-arena.
  • Input campaign planning for marketing initiatives inclusive of Tentpoles, Social Responsibility and DTC into NBA's media planning system.
  • Enhance media planning system user interfaces to streamline and increase efficiencies.
  • Manage the NBA's rate-card and understand the current marketplace.
  • Set up measurement and reporting across channels or assets (ex. tracking link creation or inputs into third party measurement).
  • Understand NBA's strategic approach by market including channel parameters, fans user flows, schedules and brand guidelines during campaign execution (ex. messaging/translations on various assets, market relevant CTAs, correct logo usage and creation of end-cards).
  • Identify and stand up cross-functional processes.
  • Serve as subject matter expert through various internal/external meetings, presentations and share outs.

Required Skills/Knowledge:
  • 3+ years experience in a cross-channel media planning role
  • Experience managing/executing upper and lower funnel media campaigns (from awareness to acquisition)
  • Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational/time-management skills
  • Knowledge of both linear and digital ad operations processes and media planning systems
  • Understanding of the sports media business and direct-to-consumer content landscape
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing business needs/scheduling realities

Salary Range:
$3,653.85 - $4,038.46/biweekly
