What We Need

The Director of NBA Insights provides strategic leadership and vision for the NBA 2K franchise's global research initiatives. This role is responsible for developing the infrastructure and narratives that support a player-first approach across the organization. It scales outstanding insight tools, deepens understanding of the Total Addressable Market (TAM), and ensures player-centric data informs franchise strategy and global marketing resonance. This role is required to come onsite 3 days a week in our Novato, CA HQ location.

What You Will Do
  • Strategic Insight Tools: Identifies, develops, and scales industry-leading insight tools through vendor prioritization and in-house development in partnership with the internal Data Science and Experimentation team.
  • Foundational Player Knowledge: Coordinates deep-dive research to broaden the organization's understanding of current players and the Total Addressable Market (TAM) to identify new growth opportunities.
  • Integrated Storytelling: Uses advanced insight tools and player knowledge to advise, influence, and champion a player-first approach across Marketing, Commercial, and Product business unit initiatives.
  • Executive Partnership: Collaborates with senior leadership and VP-level stakeholders to ensure player insights are integrated into the 1-3 year franchise roadmap.
  • Team Leadership: Directs the global NBA Insights team, encouraging a culture of technical excellence and overseeing the career development of management-level reports.

  • 8-10 years of experience in insights, analytics, or consulting, with extensive experience in the video game or sports industry.
  • Mastery of managing significant functional budgets and leading multi-level management teams.
  • Proven track record of scaling insights infrastructure and driving player-first cultural change.
  • Plus - You have an active interest in sports and/or gaming.


The pay range for this position in California at the start of employment is expected to be between $176,600 and $261,380 per year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. 
Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan and Employee Stock Purchase Program.
Regular, full-time employees are also eligible for a range of benefits at the Company, including: medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage; 14 paid holidays per calendar year; paid vacation time per calendar year (ranging from 15 to 25 days) or eligibility to participate in the Company's discretionary time off program; up to 10 paid sick days per calendar year; paid parental and compassionate leave; wellbeing programs for mental health and other wellness support; family planning support through Maven; commuter benefits; and reimbursements for fitness-related expenses.
