Job description

Position Summary...Sam’s Club is building enterprise personalization as a core growth capability — and we’re looking for a senior leader to own the end-to-end personalization value chain: defining why and where personalization matters, translating member understanding into Next Best Action (NBA) decisioning, and institutionalizing measurement and learning. As the Senior Director of Enterprise Personalization Strategy & Decisioning, you will lead the centralized team accountable for enterprise personalization strategy, member signals and insights, NBA use cases and decision logic, and the guardrails that ensure personalization creates a strong member value exchange over time.
About the team:
The Experience Insights & Transformation team drives Sam’s Club growth by transforming member, marketing, and business insights into actionable strategies that enhance loyalty, increase renewals, and support profitable growth. Focused on creating long-term member engagement, the team leverages data strategy, machine learning, and collaboration to deliver impactful business solutions. By integrating advanced analytics and stakeholder management, the team empowers decision-making that strengthens the organization’s core membership base and advances Sam’s Club’s mission to create members for life. What you'll do...
  • Set enterprise personalization vision and success metrics.
  • Serve as enterprise thought leader on personalization and influence senior leadership on priorities, investment decisions, and performance optimization.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Marketing, Merchandising, Operations, eCommerce, Membership, Data & Analytics, and Technology teams to ensure personalization strategies are embedded into channel plans and operating models.
  • Align and sequence the enterprise personalization roadmap.
  • Define the member understanding foundation.
  • Design and run causal learning loops.
  • Own NBA use case definition and decision logic.
  • Embed enterprise guardrails into decisioning.
  • Institutionalize measurement and feedback.
  • Drive enterprise-grade scalability.
  • Cultivate an environment where Sam's culture of Member first, ownership & excellence in execution, human connection, and collaboration can thrive.
What you'll bring:
  • Proven ability to own and scale an enterprise decisioning capability (strategy → insights → decision logic → guardrails → measurement), not just deliver point solutions.
  • Strong literacy in member analytics, experimentation, and causal inference — able to set testing standards that balance speed and confidence.
  • Demonstrated experience designing decisioning frameworks (rules, optimization, ML-enabled prioritization) and translating them into measurable business outcomes.
  • Ability to define and govern value exchange, eligibility, economics, and responsible personalization guardrails that protect member trust and long-term value.
  • Track record of building high-performing teams and operating rhythms that deliver repeatable, scalable capability.
