Job description

Job Overview: MidAmerica Nazarene University, located in Olathe, Kansas invites qualified candidates to apply for a part-time Clinical Instructor position in Nursing. The Clinical Instructor is responsible for student education and oversight in clinical facilities, the nursing skills laboratory, and/or the Virtual Patient Center (VPC). This includes attending Clinical Instructor orientation, including facility orientation at all facilities in which the instructor will supervise students, and attending student clinical orientation. The Clinical Instructor will arrive according to schedule at assigned locations and will educate and supervise nursing students in the clinical setting, as directed by the didactic faculty member and Clinical Education Coordinator. This includes student evaluation and grading students' clinical assignments. This is a non-exempt position with a pay rate of $30/hour while in the clinical or laboratory setting.
Position Description:
  • Making student clinical assignments
  • Functioning as a clinical instructor in Long Term Care facilities, the skills lab and/or the Virtual Patient Center (VPC)
  • Straightening the classroom or laboratory environment after learning activities
  • Maintaining health relationships with facility educators and staff
  • Providing the course faculty with evaluative student data, according to course evaluation criteria
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

The following is a list of clinicals that we offer in groups led by an instructor:
  • CNA Certificate Course (Long Term Care Facilities, Adult Care Home, Long Term Care Unit at Hospital or State Institution)

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience:
  • Hold a current Kansas License Practical Nurse (LPN)/ Registered Nurse (RN) License and be in good standing
  • Minimum of two year of clinical practice required
  • At least have an associate degree.
  • Strong Communication
  • Internet and phone access is required.
  • Applicants should demonstrate the ability to meet challenges of adult learners with diverse backgrounds, be self-directed and innovative, and provide effective professional nurse role modeling for undergraduate nursing students.
