We are seeking a qualified Senior Engineer in Arlington, VA. This position is not eligible for hybrid or remote work situations. This is a 100% on-site, in-office position.


Position Description:

The selectee will perform as the Decision Technologies Senior Engineer for a US Navy Weapons Engineering and Program Acquisition Support contract.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Support the IWS 11 Technical Director in developing, defining, and maintaining the overall strategic technology roadmap for the program office to address Fleet gaps and counter evolving threats.
  • Assess new weapon system technologies and evaluate current fielded systems against new and projected threat capabilities to help develop updated tactics and concepts of operations.
  • Support the development of emerging solutions to Fleet problems through the application of novel weapon systems and Naval Science & Technology (S&T) initiatives.

Systems Engineering & Integration

  • Provide systems engineering support for design, development, production, and in-service activities, including system analysis, combat system integration, modeling and simulation (M&S), and requirements maintenance.
  • Provide technical inputs in RF and electromagnetic effects, including the rigorous review and analysis of plans, schedules, tests, test results, and data packages.
  • Participate in program and technical review meetings related to combat and weapon system integration, cybersecurity, and overall weapon system effectiveness.

Digital Transformation & Program Reporting

  • Assist in managing digital efforts across the portfolio, encompassing Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), Model-Based Product Support (MBPS), and the development of an overarching digital thread / digital twin to support system development.
  • Prepare technical documentation, senior-level briefings, and other reporting requirements to effectively communicate strategic initiatives, system performance, and capability improvements to internal and external stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in a science, engineering, technology, or math discipline
  • 10 years' total experience with engineering US Navy platforms or weapon systems

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree area is in Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering or other technical area directly relevant to radar engineering, electromagnetic effects and interference, communication engineering, or electromagnetic passive sensing
  • Direct experience with engineering support for specific Navy terminal defense systems such as RAM and CIWS.
  • Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital engineering principles, and MBSE tools/frameworks (e.g., Cameo, DoDAF, etc.)
  • Ability to work effectively with team members and subcontractors from various technical, acquisition, and administrative disciplines
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Ability to develop and deliver coherent and concise customer presentations
