Job description

Ensures a comprehensive understanding of existing regulatory requirements and continuously monitors industry trends to anticipate the impact of new regulatory requirements in a country or globally. Ensures regulatory environment is shaped by engaging with and influencing regulatory agencies and industry associations, and supports the development of advocacy materials. Develops and maintains a network with key players influencing regulatory development
Responsibilities
  • Lead the organization's examination management program across multiple regulatory bodies.
  • Direct strategic initiatives to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Partner with legal, operations, compliance, and finance to align compliance efforts.
  • Drive innovation in regulatory processes while maintaining stringent compliance standards.
  • Manage high-stakes regulatory interactions and oversee examination scheduling.
  • Develop and implement policies to optimize regulatory submission processes.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in response to regulatory inquiries and examinations.
  • Provide expert guidance on complex regulatory issues and compliance strategies.
  • Manage the GRC workflow, ensuring accuracy and accessibility of regulatory data.
  • Communicate regulatory updates and compliance strategies to senior management.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members.

Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in operations or technology risk/control function
  • 3+ years of direct experience with regulatory examinations (NCUA, CFPB, S&P, etc.)
  • Experience managing regulatory relations or affairs with federal regulators (Federal Reserve, OCC).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of credit union regulations and banking regulations (Basel III, Dodd-Frank Act, BSA, AML, Consumer Protection).
  • Strong project management skills, including prioritization and multitasking.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects or exams.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to build effective relationships with regulatory agencies and internal stakeholders.
  • Proven track record in managing multiple regulatory examinations simultaneously.
  • MS Office proficiency.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage complex regulatory requirements.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field
