Job description

Title: Physical Therapist (PT)
Location: Portales, New Mexico
Duration: 13 Weeks (High possibility of extension)
Schedule: Monday - Friday
Shift: Days | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Overview:
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a compassionate and patient-focused Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive rural healthcare environment while helping patients improve mobility, restore function, and achieve maximum independence.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations and assessments
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
  • Deliver evidence-based physical therapy interventions
  • Improve patient mobility, strength, balance, coordination, and functional independence
  • Provide treatment in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation settings
  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed
  • Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, injury prevention, and recovery strategies
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare professionals
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatments, and discharge summaries
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintain compliance with facility policies, professional standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Ensure a safe treatment environment and follow infection prevention protocols
Required Qualifications:
  • Active New Mexico Physical Therapist License
  • Current BLS/BCLS Certification
  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program
  • Strong clinical reasoning and patient assessment skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation
  • Familiarity with Meditech EMR
  • Experience in a rural healthcare environment
Practice Settings:
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation
  • Inpatient Rehabilitation
Additional Information:
  • New graduates and therapists with less than one year of experience are encouraged to apply
  • Holiday coverage not required
  • No bilingual requirement
  • Active state licensure required prior to start date
