The Enterprise Effects Division (EED) drives integration of Aerospace's strategic capabilities across the national space enterprise. The divisionleveragesa broad array of engineering disciplines against a dynamic portfolio of programs, customers, and national challenges. EED spans the capability lifecycle from concept and architecture design to performance assessment to application of space and space-enabled capabilities.

The Surveillance and Navigation Architecture Performance Department (SNAPD) in the Integrated Performance Subdivision aspires to be the premier forceadvisingthe evolution of national security and civil space enterprises,leveragingour modeling and simulation (M&S)expertiseto evaluateend-to-endarchitecture performance.

Within SNAPD, theNavigation and PositioningArchitecturesSection(NPAS)develops andmaintainstechnical capabilitiesinmodeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) to perform requirements verification, analyses-of-alternatives (AoA), and performance evaluation for navigation and positioning systems. We are looking for curious and innovative teammates to help us address our customers'hardestproblems!

Work Model:

This full-time position requires 100% onsite work in El Segundo, CA,Chantilly, VA, or Colorado Springs, CO.

WhatYou'llBe Doing

  • Carry outanalysis driving recommendations for research, development, and acquisition decisions for legacy and emergingnavigation and positioning systems

  • Serve as a key pointof contactforspecialized technicalexpertisein geolocation, PNT architecture analysis or PNT resilience

  • Lead cross-department teams in conducting specialized technical analysis and development tasks

  • Independentlytranslate customer needs into projectobjectivesand provide technical evaluations

  • Perform end-to-end (E2E) performance evaluations and analysis-of-alternatives (AoA) using in-house or internally developed analysis tools

  • Serve as a technical mentor to junior staffin one or more department focus areas, coordinating training and delivering a strategy formaintainingbench depth in department capabilities.

  • Develop and presenttimelyand technicallyaccuratepresentations and reports that clearly communicate analysis results to technical leads, management, and customers

  • Support development and sustainment of the organization's analysis and simulation tools and capabilities

What You Need to be Successful:

MinimumRequirements:

Engineering Specialist

  • B.S.degreein aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, mathematics, orarelated discipline from an accredited school

  • 8or moreyears ofrelevantprofessional,technicalworkexperience

  • Professional experience withone or more of the following subjects:space-related modelingand simulation,geolocation,mission data processing, signal processing, space threats, resilient systems, advanced PNT technologies, algorithm design, software development,ormathematical modeling

  • Proficiencywith one or more software languages that may include Python,C,C++, MATLAB, Fortran, Java

  • This positionrequirestheability to obtain andmaintainaTS/SCIsecurity clearance, which is issued by the U.S. government. U.S. citizenship isrequiredto obtain a security clearance

In addition to the above, theminimumrequirements forSenior Engineering Specialistinclude:

  • 12years of increasingly responsible engineering experience

  • Knowledge in one or more of these specific national security space or intelligence mission areas: signals intelligence, geo-spatial intelligence, space surveillance, navigationsystemsor space protection

  • Current, active TS/SCI security clearance

  • Knowledge of Intelligence Community or US Department of Defense business practices, acquisition policies, or space mission portfolios

The grade-based pay range for this job is listed below. Individual salaries within that range are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge and skills.
