To thrive as a Navigation Engineer (Remote), you need a strong background in navigation algorithms, sensor fusion, and a relevant engineering degree such as electrical, aerospace, or computer engineering. Familiarity with tools like MATLAB, GNSS simulation software, and programming languages such as Python or C++ is typically required, along with experience using version control systems. Excellent problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are vital for collaborating effectively in distributed teams. These competencies ensure the development of accurate, reliable navigation solutions and seamless integration within multidisciplinary, remote environments.

What are some common challenges Navigation Engineers face when working remotely, and how can they overcome them?

Navigation Engineers working remotely often encounter challenges such as coordinating real-time data exchange with on-site teams, troubleshooting hardware-related issues from a distance, and maintaining seamless communication across time zones. To overcome these hurdles, it's important to utilize robust collaboration tools, establish clear protocols for data sharing, and schedule regular check-ins with team members. Developing strong written and verbal communication skills also helps ensure project requirements and system updates are clearly understood by all stakeholders.

Job description

About LearnLux

LearnLux is the leading provider of workplace financial wellbeing, blending fiduciary digital planning with access to one-on-one guidance from Certified Financial Plannerโ„ข๏ธ professionals. Our award-winning program helps employees navigate critical financial decisions from budgeting and benefits elections to equity compensation, home buying, and retirement so they can feel confident about their money and focused at work. Advanced reporting helps our partners understand impact, driving outcomes like reduced financial stress, increased productivity, and improved retention.

We're building LearnLux with intention. We move quickly, operate with a high bar for quality, and value people who take ownership of their work. If you're energized by solving new problems, taking accountability, and pushing yourself to do your best work every day, you'll find this a rewarding environment.

We're a venture-backed company that has raised over $35M to date and is supported by experienced investors and long-term partners. We're a growth-focused business building for scale, and we're excited by the opportunities and challenges that come with that journey.

The Role

At LearnLux, you will build a product that changes lives. Our mission is to empower people to take control of their financial future, whether that means getting out of debt, buying their first home, or preparing for retirement. As a Senior Full Stack Product Engineer, you'll have the opportunity to shape this mission by building features that help users around the world work toward their financial goals, on a platform that's revolutionizing how people access fiduciary financial guidance.
In this role, you'll work on complex challenges that come with scaling a global platform, including frontend architecture, data architecture, backend integrations, and agentic automation. Your contributions will support a scalable, secure, and high-performance product. You'll help define elegant technical solutions to meaningful problems, ensuring that every line of code delivers value to the people we serve.

We're a small, fast-moving team where your voice carries. You'll have a seat at the table from day one, not just building the product, but shaping it. You'll collaborate directly with Product, Design, Sales, and other teams to influence what we build, why we build it, and how it comes to life. This is a rare opportunity to leave your mark on a platform that's helping people build real financial confidence, while growing alongside a team that values initiative, curiosity, and craftsmanship.

This role reports into the Product Engineering Manager. This role is based in Denver, Colorado. Remote candidates will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.

What you'll do
  • Design and ship AI-powered features directly into the user experience, turning new AI capabilities into real product value.
  • Lead projects from concept to delivery, building impactful and scalable products that help users around the world achieve their financial goals.
  • Resolve ambiguity early by partnering with Product and Design to close requirement gaps and keep work moving when the path isn't fully defined.
  • Drive frontend development in React and TypeScript, running agent-assisted workstreams to ship scalable, maintainable interfaces.
  • Design and implement backend systems and APIs with Node.js, Python, and serverless functions, deployed on Google Cloud Platform.
  • Bring curiosity, empathy, and pragmatism to tradeoffs in product, UX, and technical decisions.
  • Improve how we build by adopting AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, and bring new tools and practices to the team that increase our speed, quality, and creativity.
  • Deliver high-leverage technical reviews that improve system and product quality.
  • Support teammates through collaboration, pairing, and thoughtful technical discussion and leadership.
You should bring
  • Demonstrated experience building and shipping GenAI or LLM-powered features into a user-facing product, along with a real drive to keep pushing what's possible with AI.
  • Extensive full-stack experience with modern frontend and backend architecture, systems and API design, and both relational and non-relational data models, working comfortably across the stack in dynamic, AI-forward environments.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted and agentic development workflows, and a track record of structuring the context that both teammates and AI agents need to succeed on a project.
  • A product-minded approach to engineering, with care for the person on the other side of the screen and curiosity about how technical decisions shape outcomes.
  • Hands-on experience building scalable systems on major cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.).
  • Thrives when operating with ambiguity: taking a loosely defined outcome and driving it to delivery with strong product judgment.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects, aligning technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver high-impact outcomes.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring, knowledge-sharing, and contributing to a high-performing, mission-driven engineering team.
LearnLux is a fit for you if you
  • Thrive in fast-moving environments and enjoy building in moments of change. We operate with urgency, and roles, priorities, and approaches evolve as we grow.
  • Like wearing multiple hats and helping define the path forward. At LearnLux, roles evolve as we grow, and employees often help create clarity, structure, and direction where it didn't previously exist.
  • Take initiative and don't wait to be asked. You see problems as opportunities and are comfortable stepping in to move work forward.
  • Are energized by ambiguity and willing to make decisions with imperfect information. We learn quickly by doing, and pace is a competitive advantage for us.
  • Enjoy being hands-on and owning work end to end. While strategic thinking matters, execution, follow-through, and accountability are what drive impact here.
  • Are motivated by high standards and continuous improvement. As we hit new milestones, we intentionally raise the bar on quality, ownership, and outcomes.
  • Value clear, frequent communication and collaboration. As a remote team, staying aligned through proactive communication is core to how we operate.
Benefits
  • Remote-first company structure
  • Medical, dental, and vision
  • 401(k)
  • Mental wellbeing (Talkspace)
  • Financial wellbeing (LearnLux)
  • Paid vacation and sick leave
  • Paid sabbatical after 5 years of service
  • A supportive, inclusive team culture
  • Opportunities for continuous learning and growth at a fast-growing startup at the cutting edge intersection of financial wellness and technology
