MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU) is a private university with a variety of undergraduate, graduate and adult education programs, accredited by the Higher Learning Commission.  Located in the Kansas City metropolitan area, MNU seeks to educate students to serve with purpose within the educational context of the liberal arts, and a Wesleyan-holiness theological perspective.  MNU has an enrollment of approximately 1500 students with half considered traditional residential students.  For more information about MNU, see our website:  www.mnu.edu.

Position Description:

The Department of Natural, Health, and Mathematical Sciences at MidAmerica Nazarene University (MNU), invites qualified candidates to apply for the position of General Chemistry adjunct lab instructor. General Chemistry I is offered every fall with two sections of the laboratory. General Chemistry II is offered every spring with two sections of the laboratory. Curriculum is provided. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and to Christian education.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Teach/direct undergraduate general chemistry laboratory courses.
  • Work under the direction of full-time chemistry faculty member.
  • Maintain up to date records of student grades

Qualifications:

  • A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field preferred. An MS in Chemistry in a related field will be considered.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with department chair and full-time chemistry faculty.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective teaching.
