Maintenance Supervisor - RNG / Methane-Natural Gas Processing / O&M - Indianapolis, IN #4992

Job Description

Join an industry leader as a RNG Maintenance Supervisor playing a critical leadership role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) plant. This position is responsible for leading maintenance activities, managing on-site inventory and procurement, coordinating internal and external resources, and driving continuous improvement in plant reliability and productivity. Working closely with the Plant Manager and operations team, the supervisor will oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, major outages, and resource planning to meet production goals while minimizing downtime and costs.

Key Responsibilities

· Lead asset maintenance management, planning, and scheduling for both internal teams and external contractors at the RNG plant.

· Collaborate with the Operations and Plant teams to ensure seamless support and successful maintenance outcomes.

· Maintain the RNG plant in accordance with production targets and established asset maintenance plans.

· Plan, coordinate, and communicate all maintenance activities, including scheduled outages and major plant shutdowns.

· Develop and manage mechanical preventive maintenance schedules, electrical systems (GEAMS), and compliance-related maintenance programs.

· Oversee maintenance resource planning to support plant start-up, ongoing operations, and peak performance.

· Identify critical spares and inventory needs; develop and execute strategies for procurement and stock management.

· Analyze operations and maintenance data to identify opportunities for improved productivity, efficiency, and cost reduction.

· Support daily operations to maximize plant output while controlling direct maintenance costs.

· Manage third-party contractors, including scoping work, overseeing performance, and ensuring compliance with site standards.

· Champion a strong safety culture by actively promoting and enforcing health and safety policies and procedures.

· Comply with all company policies, procedures, and directives while performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

· Proven supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably involving electrical and rotating equipment (gas engines, compressors, etc.).

· Strong experience developing and managing site maintenance schedules, ideally in gas processing, RNG/biogas, or power generation facilities.

· Solid understanding of budgets, basic accounting principles, and cost control.

· Proficiency with computerized maintenance systems, monitoring equipment, and adjusting operating parameters.

· Excellent organizational, oral, and written communication skills.

· Ability to work independently, under pressure, and deliver results with minimal supervision.

· Strong commitment to safety, reliability, and team goals.

· Physical capability to perform hands-on work: stand, walk, bend, squat, crawl, climb, and lift up to 80 pounds for extended periods.

· Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel occasionally by automobile or air as needed.

Preferred:

· Experience with gas field, gas plant, and engine maintenance.

· Technical knowledge of RNG or biogas production processes.
