TECO Partners is seeking a Business Development Manager - Residential Growth to help expand natural gas adoption throughout Florida's growing residential market. In this highly visible role, you'll partner with residential builders, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and industry stakeholders to identify growth opportunities, promote the benefits of natural gas, and support new residential developments. 

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated sales and business development professional who enjoys building long-term relationships, driving strategic growth initiatives, and serving as a trusted advisor to customers and industry partners. 

This role is base salary plus commission and requires frequent/daily travel.  

What You'll Do

As a Business Development Manager - Residential, you'll play a key role in growing residential natural gas opportunities across Florida by developing partnerships, supporting residential projects, and serving as a trusted resource for builders and developers. 

Develop New Business Opportunities
  • Build and maintain relationships with residential builders, developers, architects, engineers, contractors, and industry influencers.
  • Identify new residential growth opportunities and market expansion strategies.
  • Secure agreements with single-family and multi-family residential builders and developers.
  • Prospect for new business opportunities through networking, market research, outreach activities, and relationship development. 
Manage Residential Builder & Developer Relationships
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for residential development projects.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing and prospective builders and developers throughout assigned markets.
  • Provide ongoing support and consultation throughout the sales and development lifecycle.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and responsiveness. 
Support Residential Growth Strategy
  • Partner with leadership to develop and implement sales strategies designed to increase natural gas growth opportunities.
  • Analyze market conditions and identify emerging residential development trends.
  • Provide market intelligence and recommendations to support long-term residential growth planning.
  • Promote the benefits and value of natural gas solutions to customers and stakeholders. 
Coordinate Cross-Functional Project Execution
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, construction, operations, and sales teams to support successful project execution.
  • Coordinate pre-sale and post-sale activities to ensure seamless customer experiences.
  • Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule and customer expectations are exceeded. 
Represent TECO Partners in the Marketplace
  • Attend builder association meetings, industry conferences, educational seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
  • Develop credibility as a trusted energy industry resource and relationship manager.
  • Promote TECO Partners and natural gas solutions within the residential development community.

Required QualificationsEducation
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or a related field. OR High School Diploma/GED plus an additional four (4) years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree. 
Experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience performing duties similar to business development, sales, account management, customer relationship management, market development, or related responsibilities.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Strong leadership and negotiation skills.  Proven ability to solicit  business through cold calling, in-person meetings and market research data .
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 years of business development and outside sales experience.

  • Knowledge of  Peoples Gas' products and services, the natural gas / energy industry,  and the Florida housing market
