A natural gas compressor mechanic works in various industrial locations, such as around natural gas pipelines, production facilities, and anywhere else natural gas is commonly extracted, refined, or used. As a natural gas mechanic, you perform preventative maintenance and repairs on natural gas compressor systems and compression equipment. Your responsibilities include equipment repair on all components of natural gas compressors, such as engines, hoses, and other parts. The duties of a natural gas compressor mechanic include checking for sufficient engine compression, and an ability to troubleshoot other typical engine issues.
