Compensation Range: $125,100.00 - $156,200.00 

Compensation may vary based on applicant's work experience, education level, skill set, and/or location.  

Job Purpose

The Director of National Accounts is responsible for developing and leading national sales and service operations to meet or exceed assigned revenue, bookings, and profitability goals. This role is responsible for driving strategic growth within some of EnerSys' most important customer relationships while leading a high-performing National Accounts organization focused on delivering innovative power solutions, operational efficiencies, and measurable value to customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Exercising discretion and independent judgment when dealing with critical matters within the organization
  • Superior understanding of product lines being sold, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations
  • Leading sales teams in identifying growth opportunities, understanding market trends, and navigating competitive environments
  • Hiring, retaining, evaluating, coaching, and developing sales representatives, including personal development plans
  • Building and strengthening relationships with key customers, OEMs, distributors, channel partners, and industry stakeholders
  • Responsible for territory expansion and strategic market development initiatives
  • Creating and implementing sales processes, performance metrics, and accountability measures to drive continuous improvement
  • Leading direct selling efforts, including identification of new customer opportunities and sales channel management
  • Assisting in the creation and execution of sales strategies while maintaining strong relationships with existing customers
  • Developing executive-level relationships with customer decision-makers across multi-site and national organizations
  • Identifying and pursuing opportunities within industrial, material handling, logistics, manufacturing, distribution, and energy-related markets
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with service, operations, engineering, marketing, and product management teams to deliver customer-focused solutions
  • Profit and loss responsibilities including sales forecasting, margin tracking,  and cost management
  • Leading contract negotiations and long-term commercial agreements
  • Representing EnerSys at industry events, trade shows, customer meetings, and strategic business reviews
  • Creating and maintaining networks that drive growth, market intelligence, and business development opportunities
  • Acting strategically to support organizational goals and long-term business objectives
  • Communicating effectively across customers, team members, and executive leadership
  •  Approximately 50% travel required to support customer engagement, team development, strategic planning, and business growth initiatives
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of progressive sales and management experience, with a proven track record of driving growth and achieving business objectives
  • Experience in the battery, power solutions, and/or material handling industry
  • Ability to understand, interpret, and clearly explain technical electrical systems to customers and stakeholders
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong leadership capabilities with demonstrated experience motivating, coaching, and developing teams
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to build productive partnerships across functions and levels of an organization
  • Results-driven, self-motivated, and highly engaged, with a strong commitment to customer success
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to establish credibility and influence key decision-makers
