The Site Operations FIMS-CAIS Surge Support will provides Facilities Information Management System (FIMS), Real Property Condition Assessment Survey (CAS) Support, Condition Assessment Information System (CAIS) Program Management Services. This position will support and assist National Lab of the Rockies (NLR) staff in the Office of Site Operations to successfully plan, manage and complete projects and other development efforts on campus in support of NLR’s research mission.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide a detailed, centrally controlled, computerized database of facility inventory information in the FIMS database.
  • Assess and/or inspect facility conditions that are founded on recognized, fully defined industry-based inspection and deficiency standards.
  • Provide data analysis and cross walk between management systems to ensure all information is accurate and reported in accordance with DOE Orders and directives.
  • Perform asset management services to maintain data as it changes and/or is created, and address data validation questions directed during interviews by DOE’s cognizant office of FIMS management.
  • Develop and/or maintain a Quality Assurance (QA) plan and procedure that ensures compliance with the FIMS requirements.
  • Prepare annual CAS reports documenting general conditions, systems and component deficiencies with recommendations for repair or replacement of the deficient components or systems.
  • Provide an updated list of deferred maintenance items, and a valid estimate of costs with a Denver, Colorado based site factor and NLR factor.
  • Enter results from the conducted assessments into the CAIS database including approximately 65 structures (~1.08 million s. f.) located at the South Table Mountain site, the Flatirons Campus (formerly the National Wind Technology Center) and leased off-site facilities.
  • Provide RPV cost estimates and life-cycle projected costs.
  • Assist with walk-throughs to complete the calculations for Asset % Utilization of all sites.
  • Travel annually to off-site facilities to conduct inspections, assessments and FIMS validation.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years or more experience required.
  • Proficient in DOE facilities management and property condition assessments.
  • Registration preferred where applicable (Engineers – PE, Others – in their related field).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.
  • Successful drug screening.
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security or clearance badge.


Location/Work Arrangement:

  • National Lab of the Rockies, Golden, CO.
  • Schedule is full-time, Monday – Friday 40-hour week.

Starting compensation for this role typical salary ranges between $105,000 and $125,000 annually is commensurate with experience relative to the position and may vary based on candidate geographical location.
